Rosemary Plant Cuttings: A rooted rosemary plant from a cutting will mature quicker than a plant started from seed. The plant will reach a usable size in just a few months so you will be able to harvest rosemary sooner. The rosemary plant you will grow from cuttings will be an exact clone of the mother plant and have the same flavor, disease resistance, and growth.
*Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a perennial herb in USDA Hardiness Zones 8 and warmer where it can be planted in the garden and can grow 4 feet tall and spreads about 4 feet wide depending on the variety. For those of us gardening in colder zones, growing rosemary in containers allows us to bring it in during the winter.
*ARP Rose Mary: More cold-hardy than most, it quickly forms an upright hedge of aromatic needle-like foliage. Profuse clear-blue flowers add to the effect. Takes to pruning well for small topiaries. Good flavor for cooking. Evergreen.
Pine Rosemary: Ornamental Rosemary features thin needle like leaves that have a strong pine scent. Not suited for culinary use, this pretty ornamental evergreen is commonly trimmed and used as a living miniature "Christmas tree". Nice in containers, can easily be grown indoors in good light. Perennial Zones 8-10
Spice Island Rosemary: is a vigorous, easy to grow Rosemary with thick, sturdy, dark-green leaves. It is outstanding for culinary use. It blooms in the summer and prefers full sun. Rosemary does best with excellent drainage and can go dry between waterings. It is even considered drought tolerant! It grows 4' tall, but can be kept trimmed at any height. It is hardy to 0 degrees F. In cooler regions it can be grown as a house plant in a sunny window or as a patio plant, outside during the summer, and indoors during the winter.
